Marcela was born in Argentina. She studied art and theatre at the University of Mendoza in Argentina. Focused on sculpture and ceramics, she developed a way to stabilize Earth as her medium. EARTH and other natural materials, like clay, adobe and natural minerals can create a surface that mimics the natural desert landscapes of Arizona. Her 3D sculptural paintings reflect the organic beauty of the deserts. Over time she became known as Adobe Earth Artist.
Before coming to the United States in 1993, Marcela worked at the Museum of Modern Art and Cultural De Mendoza as an art coordinator. In addition, she participated in numerous exhibitions in Argentina and Chile. Upon arriving to the United States, Marcela lived and worked at Taliesin West, the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture near Scottsdale Arizona.
