Weiliang Zhao is an American citizen born in Shanghai in 1944. He is now living in Los Angeles USA. His mentor was Meng Guang, the famous professor of Shanghai’s Academy of Fine Arts.Weiliang Zhao has been teaching art at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Department of Fine Arts.
Before immigrating to the USA, Weiliang Zhao has received several awards in various exhibitions in Shanghai and in China. During the Asian Exhibition Tour, his work pieces were exhibited among other world-class artists, such as Christo, Andy Warhol or David Hockney.
His work was also collected by Mr. Frederick R. Weisman, one of the top-eight greatest art collectors in the world and owner of The Fine Art Foundation. Weiliang Zhao is famous for his particular style, from new realism to post-modern abstractionism and frequent squares in his art pieces, which blends western style and eastern mysteries.
